How it all started.
My journey into building replica bridges began with an exploration of Indiana’s historic covered bridges. I really liked and was fascinated with the Burr Arch and Truss designs, I was captivated by the majestic timbers and the authentic craftsmanship—the visible saw marks, hand planer textures, and natural blemishes that tell a story of time. These structural masterpieces, set upon massive stone foundations, inspired a mission to recreate that same rugged elegance. At My Covered Bridge, we specialize in building an authentic replica inspired by the Narrows Bridge at Turkey Run State Park (not an exact replica). Our bridges are built for durability and character, featuring Poplar sub-structure, genuine Cedar roofing—never asphalt—and robust boulder bases. We purposely avoid a manufactured, 'perfect' look to preserve the raw, historic aesthetic of traditional timber framing. Clients can customize their build with personalized lettering on the name of the bridge or honor the original inspiration as it sits today. We take pride in delivering a piece of architectural history with timeless craftsmanship.
